Owen Mark Sanderson

Owen Mark Sanderson has extensive experience in real estate as an investor, property owner and manager. An attorney, he began working in the real estate field when he was 25. He has worked with a range of residential and commercial properties both large and small primarily in the Northeast and Florida.

In recent years he has focused on senior living communities in Florida including Vero Palm Estates, a 1,000-home property for residents 55 and older in Vero; and Heron Cay, a gated community of 885 condominium homes with extensive amenities for residents 62 and older. While all of the homes are sold out, he owns the land and provides all property management services.

The plans for The Village in the Hudson Valley, call for creating a “life plan” community that will provide independent living single-family homes. Amenities include a 12,000-square-foot clubhouse with large and small kitchens for resident gatherings of family and friends. There will be a spacious indoor swimming pool. An extensive array of services will be available including a local area shuttle and a town car for travel to area attractions. The adjacent assisted living community will provide 24-hour emergency medical services.

The one- and two-bedroom homes will range in size from 1,200 to 1,400 square feet. The two thirds of the 53-acre property will be open space with a walking path. The plan includes construction of sidewalks and traffic improvements to Route 9W.

Mark’s approach to The Village is to provide new housing opportunities for older residents at affordable prices. “This is a tremendous opportunity to create a beautiful property that will enable older residents of the Highland and the Town of Lloyd to remain in the community without all the demands and costs of maintaining a single-family home. I am confident that The Village in the Hudson Valley will be a tremendous asset for the entire town.”
